Replaced prev owner’s kitchen padded stool with wood

When I looked at my house during my search, I was happy to see a kitchen island that separated the cooking area from an eating area.  The previous owner had padded barstools along the island.  I finally replaced them with a nice light wooden barstool with a clear varnish and it looks great!  It’s the perfect place to sip coffee and read the newspaper.

The nice thing about wood bar stools is you still have the option of purchasing or creating washable cushions for them.

True. If they’re padded, you can’t really wash the cushion and you don’t really have many options like switching the fabric for a better one.

Depends how you’ve made the padding. If it is with some kind of buttons there should be no problem switching the cushions.

I have some bespoke wooden bar stools at my bar, and they are stained to match the bar top. They look really old and rustic in the design and they are surprisingly comfortable without a padded seat.

That sounds wonderful. I love the look of wood barstools with the nice finish so they are easy to clean.

I think that replacing the stools with wood was a good idea. It probably cleaned up the look of the kitchen a lot.

The wood style is so traditional. Usually you can get them to fit in with most styles of decor too.
