My family has always loved hanging out together in the kitchen. We would all help my mom cook dinner and talk about our days. The time we spent in the kitchen was probably the most relaxing time of the day.Now that I am a parent I try to recreate that feeling in my family. I bought a roomy kitchen bar table in order to try to get my family together more often. It actually worked!

Now that there’s somewhere comfy to sit in the kitchen I find my family spending much more time talking.

We had to switch to stools that also featured arms. They aren’t that easy to find, but they really help out when you have older relatives that need support under their arms for comfort!

I agree. It’s easier to relax if you have somewhere to rest your arms.

I have noticed that many bar stools could use another wrung in their base to give a place for shorter people to rest their feet.

How easy is it to get a set of stools customized to include this extra rung?

It is also important to have the higher backs on the bar stool to make it more comfortable.

I agree kitchen time is so essential. My family spends a great majority of our time together in the kitchen.

I love the set you have pictured.

I don’t know, but I agree with you. I’m kind of short, so it’s a little bit awkward for me to sit on most bar stools.

I have a sister who is short and she has a hard time sittiing in them too. No place for her feet but to just hang.

We also have a similar table in our open kitchen area and it really is great for a family meal.
